Magnolia Greens’ Greatest Asset – Our Volunteers

Serving on a committee or board is one of the best ways to become involved and make an impact in our community. Each year a number of openings occur within our committees providing everyone with the opportunity to contribute to MG’s success. The form Volunteer to Serve on a Committee is easily found on the website under forms and in each committee section.   Just fill it out and submit on line. This form will notify a committee chairperson of your interest in volunteering for that committee. Listed below are a number of groups for residents to match their skills and talents but really all one needs is a desire to help your community.

ASRC (Architectural Standards Review Committee)

Members of this committee stay until they choose to leave so openings occur when a member departs. The committee will be seeking several new members for the coming year. ASRC reviews all plans for new construction and all plans for proposed changes to existing exterior architectural and landscape designs.  Their reviews consist of team onsite visits to homes owners each month (in the range of 10-15 visits) to verify compliance with MG’s Architectural Standards and Guidelines. Approximate total commitment is about 4 to 5 hours per month. Committee meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM at Owners’ Clubhouse.

Compliance

Two openings on this committee are expected for the coming year.  Members periodically review all properties in the community to assure compliance with applicable covenants and guidelines. Members conduct hearings regarding any reported violations and determine what, if any, penalty is to be imposed. The Committee currently meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 4:00 PM in Rec Center Multi-purpose Room.

Facilities

Facilities Committee is looking to fill several openings in the coming year. This committee ensures the functionality, comfort, and safety of our amenities.  It also reviews and establishes rules pertaining to the use of those amenities.  The Committee meets the 1st Monday of each month at 3:00 PM at Owners’ Clubhouse.

Grounds

This committee is looking for a few volunteers in the coming year. There is no overriding need for expertise in landscaping, aquatic management, electrical, etc. as this committee partners with companies that provide those competencies.  The committee needs volunteers that can contribute by leading various initiatives; work with our partners; review and comment on proposals; etc. The Committee meets the 1st Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM at Owners’ Clubhouse.

Social

Social committee is in need of 6 members...with 6 returning. New members will be asked to co-chair different events under the leadership of an experienced member. A number of monthly activities are annual recurring events which leaves a couple months for “creativity and SC bonding”!  Here is the opportunity to be a part of an event and develop and strengthen the social ties within our community. The Committee meets the 1st Thursday of each month at 3:00 PM in Multi-purpose Room in the Rec Center.

Those who volunteer have a unique role in preserving and developing Magnolia Greens. Our community’s health depends on the activities of our volunteers so we strongly encourage residents to apply to the committees that best suits their interest and schedule.  Please begin to consider serving in one of the areas listed above.
And for all past MG volunteers - THANK YOU!
